Hi,
cDonkey soll ein Freier und Offener Client f?r Linux sein.
Es ist nicht das Ziel eine weitere GUI zu schreiben. Sondern
einen stabilen "Core" der mit den Bestehenden GUI‘s (GTK + Java)
zusammenarbeitet, jedoch auch rudiment?r per Kommandozeile arbeitet.
Derzeit bin ich noch etwas unschl??ig ihn um den Server part zu erweitern.

Der core unterst?tzt mitlerweile auch die eMule erweiterungen.
auserdem werden immer mehr asserts durch fehlerbehandlungen ersetzt.
Der Grund einen eigenen Core zu schreiben ist das der Aktuelle weder
eMule erweiterungen unterst?tzt noch gro? aktualisiert wird.

cDonkey is an open and free core client for the eDonkey protocol.
The design goal is not to create one more gui but an stable and
up to date (eMule support) core client for Linux.
And by the way it support some server funktions (all except file/user)

search. This sound first strang why it is nearly all, but user/file search
are rare because often the clients only needthe source for ans Link.

! Since i do not like flame or else i require that entry have an valid eMail.
I take many steps to protect this page against grabing that mean that it
is extrem hard to become automaticly the eMail. To aktivate an Guestbook entry
an Link is send to the entered eMail for validation.

? ed2k_gui does not work ?
! I am very sure that the ed2k_gui work even in the last version with cDonkey.
Because i use the ed2k_gui from the cvs and make update on regular basis.
To send text commands with the new Version you need to prefix them with "!"

? Beim compilieren kommen lauter Fehlermendungen mit DB....
! Es wird eine alte Berkley DB verwedet. Entweder unter www.sleepycat.com eine neue version hollen. Oder wenn 4.0 vorhanden ist ein paar NULL werden bei open l?schen. (Evtl kommt demn?chst Version die auch mit 4.0 ohne Patchen l?uft)

? Gui connected nicht.
! Default Port ist momentan 9003 f?r die GUI, Benutzer und Password sind user:pass. Dies kann man in der Setup Datei unter ~/.donkey_options ?ndern.

But the good news is that an bad memory error was fixed and so it look
the memory deadlock is fixed :-)

the development is not frozen. We have rewriten the complete IO.
Faster and from the start looked that it is with neart zero programm
overhead windows compatible too, But need testing before i publish it.
Also the 1024 Connection limit is now broken :-)

The incomming directory changed in the last version !!! (not my fault)
Move the files from old to new location or if you not already downloaded
more than 9mb in the file delete it. Sorry i missed that change self :-(

Ihr habt vieleicht mitbekommen das eDonkey2000 die Entwiklung des Offizielen
Clients stop und nur noch warten will. Ziel ist es die Leute zu Overnet zu
bringen. Overnet ist wie eDonkey fr?her war ein Closed Source Protocol, das
heist ihr k?nnt keine freien Clients erwarten. Also welche Gr?nde sprechen
noch daf?r nicht zu wechseln ?
1. Ein mitlerweile ausgereiftes Netzwerk und gro?e Usergemeinde
2. Coole Seiten die Quellen aus diesem Netz beurteilen
3. Ihr habt die Wahl, gef?llt euch eine software nicht k?nnt w?hlen

+ eMule (hat Gute erweiterungen eingef?hrt)
+ mlDonkey (komische Programiersprache)
+ cDonkey (noch neu aber vieleicht wird es was)

5. Euch entscheiden Werbung oder Nicht, Zahlen, Spenden oder Registrieren

Also wen ihr wissen wolt was ist wenn es nur einen Anbiter f?r ein Ziel gibt schaut einen gro?en Software Konzern an. Hier hat es Lange gebraucht bis sich
freie Software durchsetzen konnte. JETZ habt ihr die Gelegenheit zu sagen NEIN
wir bleiben bei freier Software.

CVS-Snapshot from 7.3.2003 is new release canidate.
It is urgendent because of an bug that is also in eMule that can
cause defekt part sending.
Suche Keyword suche mit Overnet aus aktueller gui funtzt. (cvs version of gui)
Bitte um Testr?ckmeldungen. Dies wird sehr warscheinlich die neue Release :-)

0.8.9 is out now. There are many !!! Improves bugfixes etc.
I start an webgui, Overnet work great. And files changed to *.part.met.
Since there was unchecked read/write in few days older versions become disabled.
So please update und report bugs before i block old versions for safty reasons.
Also there is an better corruption checking in now :-)
